Writing and Drawing Practices in Architecture - Online Course

Join our 12-week online self-paced "Urban Storytelling Course", to explore the tools for reaching, cultivating and integrating your inner authentic voice into your design practice.

Together, we’ll build a beautiful and authentic bridge between your unique personality and your architectural and artistic processes of creativity.

This course is for architects, students of architecture, writers and artists who want to step into a depth reading and a conscious translating of their spatial intelligence into their person-specific and unique creativity principles.

You will learn how to:

  • experience architecture through combined writing and drawing
  • select, extract, evaluate and re-create spatial values
  • imagine a transformation of a place through mixed media
  • read the environment through your own spatial intelligence
  • cultivate your own language of imagining places
  • work with the spatial memory of emotional experience

You will get:

✔︎ Lifetime access to our 12-week online "Urban Storytelling Course" with 11 pre-recorded lessons (1 lesson/week)

✔︎ Downloadable worksheets for each lesson

+

✔︎ BONUS: Audio recordings of all lessons

✔︎ BONUS: Access to our online Exhibition Studio community circle

✔︎ BONUS: Downloadable transcription booklet for each lesson

Past participants have learned to use the techniques of contemplative writing and drawing, as channels of directing their creativity into a cultivated relationship between who they truly are and what they design.

Reaching a simultaneous self-cognition and narrative excavation of the place of research, they succeeded to communicate and discuss their embodied experience as a crucial design ingredient, as something that matters in both building and creatively destabilizing their ‘position’ in their design practice.

We are thrilled to join you on this journey!

Yours,

Viktorija & David

What People Are Saying:

To be guided by Viktorija is to understand the essence of human embodied experience in spatial terms - to feel through your own senses; only when one feels does one truly live. With her noetic sensitivity she will trigger in you a desire to explore and sharpen your senses through lived experience, and contemplative reflection on the natural and the built environment. With her immense kindness and selfless sharing, she will teach you how to translate all this discovery and experience through writing and drawing modalities.

By drawing with Viktorija, I began to think about aspects of space that aren’t usually acknowledged. They are very much present and affect our behaviour, but over time we lose our childlike curiosity and fascination and no longer appreciate them. I welcomed such sensitivity and I transferred the drawings, analyzes, and impressions of the old streets of Ljubljana into words and pictures.

Viktorija has a way of guiding you back to your authentic Self by asking questions that really require some self reflection. Through the writing – drawing – conversing method with Viktorija you develop a whole new perception on what architecture is or can be and how it can be interconnected with the other art and literary forms – like poems. Through these sessions Viktorija also shows what a healthy working environment is but also what a healthy mentor – mentee dynamic is. She is encouraging, inspirational yet humble, selfless and loving and has a way of making you feel comfortable with your own vulnerability. Through this course and while working with Viktorija, I have learned how to not be scared to make architecture personal and how to use my own voice in order to create an architecture that is in correspondence with my authentic Self. If I had the chance, I would’ve chose Viktorija to be my mentor from my first year of architecture school till the final year of my master studies.
